How to Keep Active When Your Job Is Inactive?
We all know sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day isn’t exactly good for us, but most of us don’t have a choice. So, how can we be active when our job is incredibly inactive? We’ve come up with 5 simple tips to implement into your workday to help increase your activity levels.
Walk/Cycle to Work
Obviously, this isn’t an option for everyone. However, if you can make the switch to walking/cycling to work you will massively increase your activity levels.
Take The Stairs
Taking the stairs instead of the lift will help increase your step count and burn extra calories throughout the day.
Pace When You’re on a Call
Another way to increase your step count throughout the day is by pacing when you’re on a call (maybe don’t do this if you’re on a video call though).
Visit Your Colleagues Instead of Emailing Them
Next time you need to ask a colleague a question, get up and ask them in person (this will give your eyes a little break from the screen too).
Go on a Walk at Lunch
Use your lunch break to its full advantage by going on a walk. Getting away from your desk will do wonders for both your physical and mental health.
Just implementing 2 or 3 of these habits into your workday will increase your activity levels and improve your health. Try them some of them out today and see how you feel at the end of the day.
